Snowboarding at Whistler

In recent years, snowboarding has become a very popular sport at Whistler Blackcomb.

Snowboarding originated from surfing and skateboarding.  It became an official Olympic sport in 1998.

Snowboards are built from a combination of hardwood and fiberglass.  They range in length from 90 to 215 centimeters.
