The television and motion picture business in British Columbia has
grown rapidly over the past 10 years. While popular shows such as
the "X-Files" were filmed in Vancouver BC, TV and motion picture
directors are now discovering the Whistler area as an ideal shooting
location.
A new TV series entitled "Whistler" was launched in June, 2006 and is
receiving very positive reviews. The show, set in Whistler Canada,
is a fast-paced drama/thriller about the strange accidental death of
professional snowboarder Beck MacKaye. The cast includes:

The Whistler TV series is being broadcast on CTV in Canada and on the
"N" channel in the USA this summer. Not only will viewers see some
great Canadian talent, they'll also be treated to some wonderful film of
the Whistler-Blackcomb mountains.
On your next trip to Whistler, keep an eye open for film and TV
production crews. You might even land yourself a job as an extra
here in "Hollywood North"!
